The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is currently looking into an officer-involved shooting that resulted in the death of a 20-year-old man from Peach County.

According to GBI officials, Warner Robins Police Department officers were dispatched to the 200 block of North Sixth Street on August 12, 2024, around 7:00 p.m. in response to a report of a man with a gun. Upon arrival, officers encountered Mikhal Anthony Concepcion of Byron, who reportedly fired at the officers and into a home he had forcefully entered.

The GBI stated that officers then returned fire, hitting Concepcion. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Following the shooting, the Warner Robins Police Department requested that the GBI conduct the investigation. Officials also noted that no officers were injured during the incident.

Concepcion's body will be transported to the GBI Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. The GBI added that the investigation is active and ongoing, and once complete, the case file will be forwarded to the Houston County District Attorney’s Office for review.
