The Morris County Collaborative has been helping towns across the county for a number of years. Now, they’re helping children in the community become young business leaders.

Beverly Austin, a volunteer who does marketing for the MCC, said, “We build healthier communities and increase people’s well-being. That’s our main goal. I’ve always wanted to work with the youth and I was inspired to do this.”

Morris County Collaborative is a non-profit and partners with dozens of businesses in Daingerfield, Lone Star, Omaha, and Naples to provide people with whatever they might need help with. With their new Biz Kids program, Austin said she wants to help prepare kids for the future from a young age.

“It teaches kids the basic principle of business and money,” Austin said. “How to save money and how to spend it smartly. These skills can transfer to other skills, jobs, careers over a lifetime. Teaching young entrepreneurs the basics of business ownership is not only valuable, but also inspiring.”
