Editor's note: Each Monday online The Daily Record features good eats, whether from a restaurant, a store, a food truck or elsewhere. Check back each week to see 🥪 What's Cooking .

LincWay Cafe & Market is one piece of the puzzle that is LincWay, a multi-faceted business in Dalton off U.S Route 30.

Puzzles are part of the experience of dining at the unique eatery.

LincWay Cafe & Market, LincWay Art Studio and LincWay Workspace are family-owned, future businesses housed in a 44,000-square-foot building in Dalton. Delight Howells is the director/owner.

LincWay serves to link people through art, food, space, unique opportunities and the support of small businesses, all while honoring God, according to Howells.

The vision of LincWay is to build a stronger community by creating opportunities for people to connect in meaningful ways. They also are partnering with the Wayne County Children’s STEAM Playlab, which will open at LincWay as well.

"As we reflect on our journey so far, we can clearly see God’s hand in the details," Howells said. "Not only did He plant the seeds and passion for these projects, but he provided the resources, people, and expertise needed to bring together our plans.

    Sandwiches, salads and frosty treats

The menu at LincWay Cafe & Market includes handheld sandwiches like a BST (bacon, spinach and tomato), a ham and gouda panini, chicken or turkey and bacon ranch wrap or quesadillas. A brunch bagel and egg bites are other options. They also offer a ham and cheese sandwich, turkey roll-ups and grilled cheese, as well as peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a corn dog. Three different salads are also on the menu.

Smoothies and frosted lemonade as well as coffee specials are also available, along with a variety of ice creams and other dessert treats.

LincWay Cafe & Market business hours are 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The hours at LincWay Cafe & Market (including the LincWay Art Studio) are geared toward later in the day/evening as there are not too many places locally where people can go and hang out after hours.

The cafe has over 100 games that can be checked out for use, free of charge anytime the business is open.

Howells said the market space has a similar model to that of Local Roots in Wooster, which helps to support local small businesses by providing a space to place and sell products.

"We also have conference rooms that are available to the public to rent at a reasonable rate, as well as the LincWay Workspace, which provides month-to-month leased office spaces to individuals needing it," she added.  "In a nutshell, not only are we helping to provide a place for the community to come enjoy, but when the Children’s Museum opens in the future, they will also need food service solutions and we are set up to provide this service."

In the parking lot adjoining LincWay is Dutch Kitchen, also part of the LincWay family of businesses.

Dutch Kitchen provides breakfast, lunch and dinner as a dine-in restaurant, but also has a bakery and provides catering services and a banquet facility as well as other smaller private rooms for group gatherings.

"Our hope is that Dutch Kitchen will also provide another place for families to dine when they come to the future children’s museum as it continues to serve the community and tourist traveling through like it has for nearly 30 years," she said.
