    Danville man arrested on gun, drug charges during traffic stop

    DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A Danville man was arrested on several gun and drug charges after a traffic stop early Monday morning.

    A Danville Police Officer noticed a traffic violation committed by a vehicle around 1:15 a.m. Police tried to pull the car over at South Gilbert and 2nd Streets, but the driver refused to stop. Eventually, he stopped in a parking lot near 9th Street and Highland Park Boulevard.

    The driver was identified as 39-year-old Bryce Ross. During the stop, Danville Police found evidence that led to criminal charges of aggravated unlawful use and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, fleeing an officer, possession of a controlled substance and methamphetamine, felony driving while license suspended/revoked, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
