It is a lovely weekend morning, and nothing screams good morning like an iced latte at a local business. Since its opening in 2021, the Flamingo Cafe has been extremely popular. ECBA Awards $10,000 to Dr. Craig Story’s Collaborative Research with USDA
With a $10,000 grant awarded by the Essex County Beekeepers’ Association (ECBA), Dr. Craig Story (biology) will focus the next two years on research to better understand the connection between a bee’s diet and its ability to fight viral infections. The study, done in collaboration with Dr. Miguel Corona of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Bee Research Laboratory, is part of a research effort to help honeybees across the nation. Two men were arrested for Aggravated Drug Trafficking Friday night after a traffic stop in Alfred where fentanyl and meth were found in a take-out container. The York County Sheriff’s Office said 23-year-old Miguel Hernandez and 27-year-old Layhonel Baez, both from Lawrence, Massachusetts, were taken into custody around 9 pm on Biddeford Road.

New million-dollar home sales record in Seacoast: Median price hits $865,000
The median price of single-family homes sold in the Seacoast in May hit a 10-month-high, soaring to $865,000 as local home inventory hit an eight-month peak. The Seacoast Board of Realtors reports 26 homes sold for at least $1 million, a new May record. Atop the leaderboard was a rare eight-figure sale: a five-bedroom, nine-bathroom, oceanfront house at 17 Straws Point in Rye closing for $18.5 million, the second-highest-priced sale in New Hampshire history.
