According to a report in the Evansville Courier and Press, Evansville school board member Amy Word was found guilty on Friday of maintaining a common nuisance after a three-day trial. The verdict was confirmed by the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson, Ellora Daily, shortly before 12:30 p.m. The trial took place in Sullivan County due to significant media coverage in Evansville.

Coming up this evening is another Poseyville Farmer’s Market night. The theme tonight is Grillin ‘N Chillin and Diggin. It takes place from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Community Center on 60 North Church Street in Poseyville. They will have a demonstration on how to grill vegetables and you will be able to take home recipes to try it yourself. There will also be free snow cones and kids will have the chance to pan for treasure and keep what they find.
Wiesen appointed to deputy judge-executive
Henderson County Fiscal Court Clerk Kurt Wiesen will take on the new role of deputy judge-executive on July 1. Judge-Executive Brad Schneider recently appointed Wiesen to the new role through an executive order, and the Fiscal Court approved a resolution June 25 setting Wiesen’s salary at $65,000 per year.
