Countdown to Kickoff: Maret Frogs

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) – The Maret Frogs football team is the reigning DCSAA class-A champions. This year, the Frogs look to do something this program has never done before win back-to-back titles.

Maret returns many experienced seniors who expect to lead the charge and not only take this team back to the title game but win. Senior offensive lineman, Grayson Reid is committed to playing Division One football at the University of Virginia next fall.

Before focusing on college ball, Reid is set on helping the Frogs make history in his final year of high school football.

“My thing is, everybody expects us to go to the state championship,” says Reid. “That’s the standard, and I think the leadership that the seniors and other leaders on this team have taken in the off-season will prepare us very well. Everybody just wants to win, we want it bad.”

The Frogs’ last title win was during the 2021-2022 football season.

The Frogs will kick off the preseason on September 6th, where they will travel to take on the Joppatowne Mariners.
