    Maryland State Police investigating deadly crash in Prince George’s County

    LANHAM, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Maryland State Police (MSP) are investigating a deadly single-vehicle crash that took place early Sunday morning in Prince George’s County.

    According to MSP, shortly before 2 a.m., troopers from the MSP College Park barrack responded to the area of westbound Route 50 near the ramp to southbound I-495 for the report of a single-vehicle collision.

    Police said that the preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle, identified as 38-year-old Jason Jamal Harris of Temple Hills, Md., was driving a silver Nissan Altima west on Route 50 when they lost control of the car and collided with a concrete traffic barrier on the left shoulder.

    Harris died at the scene. No one else was injured.

    The cause of the crash is under investigation.
