    Pedestrian hit, killed in collision on Crain Highway in Prince George’s County

    PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — First responders blocked off all northbound lanes on the Robert S. Crain Highway after a person was hit and killed by a vehicle in Prince George’s County on Friday morning.

    According to the Maryland State Police (MSP), just after 5:30 a.m., troopers were called to Crain Highway at Croom Road for a crash involving a pedestrian.

    According to their preliminary investigation, MSP said the person who was hit was involved in a crash.

    That’s when, for unknown reasons, they walked into the third lane of the highway and were struck by a Ford.

    As of 9:16 a.m., the northbound side of Crain Highway is still shut down. Drivers are encouraged to find alternative routes until the crash is cleared.

    MSP said the name of the pedestrian will not be released until the next of kin is notified.
