Company news: Christine Corbett takes new role for Alzheimer’s Association
Christine Corbett, of Manlius, has been named vice president for development for the Upstate New York Chapters of the Alzheimer’s Association. In this newly created position, Corbett is responsible for the fundraising and development operations of three Upstate New York chapters of the Alzheimer’s Association, including Central New York, Rochester and Finger Lakes Region and Western New York.

UTICA, N.Y. — A 13-year-old boy shot to death by police in upstate New York after he pointed what turned out to be a BB gun at officers was laid to rest Saturday. VERNON — Zapaca with driver Steeven Genois captured the $6,500 featured trot on Friday at Vernon Downs. Zapaca ($3.40) went right to the front and led to the quarter in :27.2. He used a :30.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.3. Woodside Gabe (Leon Bailey) came first-up and battled for the lead as they went around the final turn.
