Woman found dead Wednesday in Montgomery, police say
Montgomery police are conducting a death investigation following the shooting of a local woman. Police and fire medics went to the 200 block of Eastdale Road South about 8:35 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a person shot, said Maj. Saba Coleman, spokeswoman for the Montgomery Police Department. They found Kinah Stokes, 28, of Montgomery who had been shot. She was taken to a local hospital, where she died. ...

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Emma Hankey, a rising senior at Cullman High School, was one of twenty-five high school seniors to attend the fifth Huntingdon College Economic and Community Development Scholars Program. The two-day, one-night immersive experience took place on the historic Huntingdon College campus in Montgomery, AL. The program, sponsored by the Huntingdon College Presidential Scholars Program and the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama, was designed to introduce young Alabama citizens to the importance of economic and community development in cities and the state.

Millbrook Council approves one of four annexation ordinances relating to Chapman Road property
The Millbrook City Council approved the first of four ordinances of annexation of property on Chapman Road Tuesday night. The land is referred to as The Green Property and is comprised of one acre with one owner. The council expects to have four votes total over the coming weeks to annex the entire property into Millbrook city limits.
Col. Shamekia Toliver takes command of 42nd Air Base Wing at Maxwell Air Force Base
A ceremony was held this morning at Maxwell Air Force Base as Col. Ryan Richardson transferred command of the 42nd Air Base Wing to Col. Shamekia N. Toliver. Col. Toliver, the new Maxwell-Gunter Installation Commander, had been commander of the 502d Installation Support Group Joint Base in San Antonio, Texas.
