It’s been quite the week for Yellowstone fans and Taylor Sheridan-verse aficionados alike.

While we still haven’t seen a new episode of Sheridan’s beloved Western drama Yellowstone , we do have solid insight on Season 5, Part 2, plus several major spinoff updates, including a big star that’s signed onto an upcoming series. (No, it’s not Kevin Costner. Sorry.)

Curious if Yellowstone returns tonight, August 11? Wondering where Yellowstone is streaming? If Season 5, Part 2 started filming yet? If Kevin Costner is returning as John Dutton? And what’s the deal with Yellowstone spin-offs like The Madison ? We’ve got answers.

Here’s everything to know about Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2, including return date, streaming info, Kevin Costner updates, the latest spin-off news, and more.

Is Yellowstone on Paramount Network Tonight (August 11)?

Looking to see if a new episode of Yellowstone airs on Paramount Network tonight, Sunday, August 11? Nope. Sadly, Yellowstone isn’t returning with new episodes on August 11, but if you tune into Paramount Network on Sunday, you’ll get another exciting Bar Rescue marathon all day with an episode of Bottoms Up, Going Down airing at 4:00 p.m. ET to shake things up a bit.

Though Yellowstone hasn’t made its triumphant return yet, we finally have an official premiere date for Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2. Will Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 Be On Paramount+?

When Yellowstone does finally return in November 2024, fans want to ensure they watch episodes live or record them for later viewing, because Season 5, Part 2 episodes won’t be available for next-day streaming on Paramount+.

Is Kevin Costner Returning To Yellowstone ?

Another burning question that now has a definitive answer is whether or not Kevin Costner, who stars as Yellowstone ‘s powerful patriarch John Dutton, will be returning to film Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2. After more than a year of speculation, we can say with complete certainty (because Costner announced the news himself!) that he will not be filming new Yellowstone episodes. On top of an already suspenseful series return in November, fans now have to tune in to see how John Dutton’s absence will be addressed.

‘Yellowstone’s Wendy Moniz Bids Emotional Farewell To “Home Away From Home” After Filming Her Last Scene

Wondering what caused Kevin Costner to part ways with Yellowstone in final stretch of Season 5? Decider detailed long-running drama between the actor and Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan in past posts, but in a June 20 Instagram video captioned, “An update for you guys. I’ll see you at the movies,”Costner explained that Horizon : An American Saga — the multi-part Western movie he starred in, directed, co-wrote, and produced — played a part in his decision to step back from the series.

“I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon , and doing all the things that’s required and thinking about Yellowstone , that beloved series that I love, that I know you love, I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue, Season 5B or into the future,” Costner told Instagram followers. “It was something that really changed me. I loved it and I know you loved it, and I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning. I love the relationship we’ve been able to develop, and I’ll see you at the movies.”

When talking to Extra ‘s Billy Bush days after his social media post, Costner said , “Yeah I just hadn’t heard anything about how [John Dutton’s death] would be done so it’s time to move on as gracefully as you can with something that’s been very important to you…It was time to move.”

Will Yellowstone Have A Season 6?

Whether Costner returned or now, Yellowstone ‘s future was decided back in May 2023 when Paramount confirmed that Season 5 would be the show’s final season . As filming starts to wrap and the end of an era approaches, stars like Wendy Moniz are starting to post goodbye messages to social media.

“Series wrap for me on Yellowstone and been having alllll the feels; sentimental, proud, grateful to name a few,” Moniz, who plays Senator Lynelle Perry, wrote alongside a collection of photos from her time on the show. “What a beautiful experience I’ve had here; just incredibly fortunate to have worked with so many talented, dedicated, and kind people since 2017.”

“I completed my last scene August 1st, then recalled having previously shared a gratitude post…looking back, it was on the SAME DATE two years ago,” Moniz continued. “There’s been a lot to reflect on, because this place, with the exceptional people who make it live and breathe, has often felt like a home away from home over these last 7 years.”

Though the fan-favorite Western is coming to an end, there are still numerous Yellowstone spinoffs to look forward to.

Yellowstone Spin-off Updates : The Madison , Michelle Pfeiffer, And More

Two Yellowstone spinoffs — tentatively titled 1944 and 2024 — were announced ahead of Yellowstone ‘s Season 5, Part 2 premiere, and on August 8, MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios announced that Michelle Pfeiffer will be executive producing and starring in The Madison (previously titled 2024 ).

The next installment from the Yellowstone universe is described as “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.” Earlier, Variety reported that the series was expected to begin airing after Yellowstone ends, and the show could feature “some crossover characters as well.” While we wait to learn more about The Madison ‘s cast and more Yellowstone spin-off updates, here’s what Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO, Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios, had to say about The Madison ‘s lead.

“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace,” said McCarthy in a press release. “She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, The Madison , from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”
