Ollie’s Bargain Outlet to open new location in DeKalb

DEKALB, Ill. — A new Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is coming to DeKalb County this week.

Ollie’s, a retailer of brand-name closeout merchandise, is set to open a new store in DeKalb, in the 2300 block of Sycamore Road, next to Walmart in the old Office Max building.

A ribbon cutting for the new location is set to take place at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17.

“We are excited to open our 11th store in the great state of Illinois where the folks have been so good to us,” Ollie’s CEO John Swygert said in a press release.

The retailer offers a variety of closeout merchandise, including food, books, housewares and more.

The new location is just one of more than 520 Ollie’s stores around the country.

According to a spokesperson for the company, each time a new location opens, it brings about 50 to 60 new jobs to the community, ranging from cashiers to assistant managers.

The new store will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
