After a Delaware home went on the market for $18 million last year, the property has been sold, staying in the family of the previous owners.

The home, located in Greenville on Snuff Mill Road, boasts 23 rooms in total, with 10 bathrooms and 10 bedrooms.

Featuring 152 acres, the property, called Shadowbrook, has multiple buildings, including the main house, tower house, pool house, gatehouse, a farmhouse duplex, mill house and two masonry horse barns.

It also includes an array of natural features, such as farm acreage, a nearly 7-acre pond, a waterfall and more.

According to the real estate agent Steve Crifasi, who is a part of Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate, the original owner was Harry Haskell Sr., who bought and built the home as a wedding gift to his daughter in 1939. Haskell was the father of Harry "Hal" Haskell Jr., who was the mayor of Wilmington from 1969 to 1972.

The house was put up for sale by six children of C. Eugene Bennett, co-founder of F&M Scientific Corp., who purchased the home in 1978.

Since then, the family has continued to own the home, with that legacy continuing.

One of the six children, whom Crifasi did not name, closed on the home on March 4.

"The nice part about this is, it's going to remain in its state that it's in now, which is beautiful," said Crifasi.

The Realtor said that a few developers reached out, but the family was keen on selling to a private family, which ended up last minute being one of the siblings themselves.

"The sibling here is the right buyer for this property," said Crifasi. "It's in good hands, and I'm happy for the family."

Crifasi said he's never seen a house sell for this much in Delaware and described the property as "unique" and "hard to find."
