A trespasser trapped at the abandoned Emily P. Bissell Hospital in Brandywine Springs was rescued by the Mill Creek Fire Company Wednesday night.

The fire company was called to the hospital, which closed in 2015, at 7:26 p.m., according to their live run log, for an entrapment.

Delaware State Police arrived on the scene a few minutes later, a spokesperson said. Firefighters were able to extract a 32-year-old woman from the building, according to police.
