The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is offering three license-free fishing days this summer, the department has announced.

State residents and visitors will be offered license-free fishing days on June 1, June 8 and July 4 this summer, as the Department of Natural Resources looks to provide anglers with an opportunity to explore the state's diverse fishing without needing a fishing license, trout stamp or certification.

The department annually hosts license-free fishing days on the first two Saturdays of June and on the Independence Day holiday, looking to take advantage of spring and summer fishing. Any individual may catch and possess fish for recreational purposes in any tidal and nontidal waters in Maryland, while still following all regulations, including size and catch limits in the department's fishing and crabbing guide.
