KENNETT, Mo. - Grecian Steak House was the meeting center for a Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) football event on Wednesday, July 10. SEMO’s head football coach Tom Matukewicz wanted an event where he can promote the upcoming season and inform residents in ‘the bootheel’ about Redhawk football. Bud Hilburn, who graduated from Kennett High School and played football at SEMO, agreed to organize the event for his alma mater and former coach.

Registration is open for 13th Annual SEMO Food Bank Golf Classic
This year’s event will be Monday, Sept. 23, at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau. The four-person scramble has a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. All proceeds benefit the food bank’s mission to end hunger in southeast Missouri. The outing includes lunch provided by Texas Roadhouse, refreshments throughout the day, games on the course and a silent auction.
