The Square Fair, hosted by the 19th Ward Community Association, is returning in 2024 on June 1.

The Fair features local vendors, crafters, and non-profit organizations, offering them a platform to sell their products and promote their programs and services. The event also includes entertainment, diverse food options, and fun activities for all ages

Activities will be held at Aberdeen Square Park, between Post Avenue and Woodbine Avenue. Festivities start at 8:30 a.m. with a Pancake Breakfast provided by the 19WCA Hot Dog Stand, sponsored by Tops Friendly Markets of West Avenue. Breakfast, including pancakes, sausage, coffee, and tea, will be available for purchase.

A parade will begin at 11 a.m. The procession starts at 174 Thurston Road, heading south towards Brooks Ave, then east onto Brooks Ave, north on Woodbine Ave, culminating at Aberdeen and Woodbine. The parade wraps up at Aberdeen Square around noon. Dr. Eva Thomas, Principal of Dr. Walter Cooper School #10, will serve as parade marshall.

“The Square Fair is one of Rochester’s festivals that is targeting families and with a focus on carnival fun, entertainment, good food, and community," Square Fair Chair, and city council member LaShay Harris said. "We have something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Since 1965, the 19th Ward Community Association has produced this event, and over the past few years, the Square Fair has become known as the festival to kick off Rochester’s festival season.”

"I am excited that residents of the Ward and all around the City get to come to the 19th Ward to enjoy the festivities," 19th Ward Community Association Josie McClary said. "There's something for everyone. I am proud to be the President of the 19th Ward Community Association and that the 19th Ward gets to showcase their resiliency, their diversity and their unity in our neighborhoods."
