Celina halts game Jacksonville squad

Freshman Hannah Holland scored two goals and junior Sammy Quiroz led a tough midfield defense as Celina scored a 2-0 win over a game Jacksonville team on Friday in a semifinal match of the Class 4A Region II Girls Soccer Tournament at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.

Three-time defending regional champion Celina (23-2-2) advances to the regional championship against either Frisco Panther Creek or Sulphur Springs at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The regional winner advances to the state tournament next week in Georgetown.
