POC Crawfish Fest and Cook-Off draws in crowds to beachfront

Call them crawdads, or mudbugs, the bright and shiny red crustaceans were the star attraction on April 27 at the Port O’Connor Crawfish Fest and Cook-Off. Visitors and locals alike packed King Fisher Beach to get a chance to crack into some crawfish and enjoy live music, food trucks and a plethora of vendors.

The big draw for many was the yearly crawfish cook-off, which saw more than a dozen teams compete for the top spot. In the end, team Heads or Tails took first place in the People’s Choice Award, while team It Ain’t Gonna Suck Itself took home Best Boiled Crawfish. The rest of the placings are listed below.
