FRISCO, Texas — A 13-year-old boy from Little Elm has been paralyzed after diving into a shallow pool to escape a wasp, his family says.SJ was at a friend's community pool when he jumped headfirst into the shallow end while fleeing from a wasp. He recalls floating face down and being unable to move, thinking he was going to drown. His friends initially thought he was playing until one realized something was wrong. SJ was rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed his spinal cord had been severely severed, leaving him without the use of his legs and arms, author of Sj gofundme updated. SJ has been admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where fractured bones were repaired, but the spinal cord damage is deemed irreparable. "We're eternally grateful for the continuous outpouring of support being shown for SJ.
