DENVER – Look for a mainly dry, sunny and warm afternoon around the Denver metro area. Highs will be in the low-90s along the urban corridor.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 9 p.m. for much of Eastern Colorado. Keep the cars in the garage, if you can! The biggest threats will be for landspout tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds. The Denver metro won't see many storms the rest of this evening.

A pretty potent cold front rolls in late Wednesday night, kicking up the winds quite a bit. It'll help to cool off temperatures a bit on Thursday.

Do you have any Fourth of July plans? Whether your grilling or heading to the pool, it's looking like a gorgeous afternoon! We'll see mostly sunny skies and highs in the low-80s around the urban corridor.

Severe storms possible across the Eastern Plains Wednesday

Sunny skies and mid-80s are back Friday with low-90s for the start of the weekend. So far, it looks like the best chance of storms will be on Sunday and Monday of next week along with slightly cooler temperatures.
