Occupant of vehicle shoots at another vehicle in traffic, DMPD investigating

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is investigating a shooting incident where an individual inside a vehicle allegedly shot at another vehicle in traffic Thursday evening.

At around 7 p.m. officers responded to a report of a shooting near the intersection of East 30th Street and Maple Street. According to police, the caller claimed that a person in a vehicle fired shots at another vehicle in traffic. No injuries were reported.

Officers located a vehicle believed to have been involved in the shooting along Dean Ave. near the State Fairgrounds. Police said multiple people have been detained and there is no ongoing danger to the public.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
