    UPDATE: Des Moines man found safe after being reported missing

    UPDATE: Pah Nwe has been located in Altoona and is healthy and well, according to the Des Moines Police Department. He is being reunited with family members.

    DMPD is offering thanks to those who were on the lookout for Nwe.

    ORIGINAL STORY:

    DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is seeking help from the public to locate a missing man.

    Pah Nwe, 75, has memory issues and may be confused. Sgt. Paul Parizek of the DMPD said Nwe is believed to have left his home near 32nd Street and Hickman Road around 12:00 a.m. on July 21. Family members have been looking for him but have not been able to find him.

    Nwe is known to walk the neighborhood to collect cans. He does not speak English but speaks the Karenic language.

    If you see Nwe or recall seeing him, you’re asked to call 911.
