Little League team pays homage to Detroit Lions with awesome jersey

As the Detroit Lions have had more and more success in recent years, the fan base is stronger than ever and we're seeing more and more love for the team from Motown.

That was never more evident than in a photo of a Michigan Little League team that surfaced recently. The team was wearing jerseys with the Lions' colors and "Grit" written across the front at their baseball tournament.

“It’s our core foundation, men. Grit,” head coach Dan Campbell said during an episode of "Hard Knocks" in 2022. “And what does it mean? Really, in a nutshell, I think it means this: we’re going to go a little bit longer, we’ll push a little harder, and we’ll think a little deeper, and a little sharper.

"To me, it means, we’ll play you anywhere. We’ll play you on grass, we’ll play you on turf, we’ll go to an (explicative) landfill. It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if you have one ass cheek and three toes, I’ll beat your ass.”

As a result of rocking those, the boys from South Lyon, Michigan, just grew their fan base exponentially.

That wasn't the only Lions reference we've seen in a non-football setting this week. There was also a Lions fan who made it to the stage on The Price is Right wearing an "I liked the Lions before it was cool" shirt.

It has no doubt become trendy to like the Lions in recent years, and that will only be more prevalent if Detroit can achieve its goal of winning a Super Bowl in 2024.
