    Egypt

    Waiting since 4/14

This remarkable 4 to 5-year-old, 50-pound dog is filled with love and affection! With a glowing description, Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. explains, "Egypt is a very happy, affectionate and loving girl once she warms up to the people she loves."

One of Egypt's standout qualities is her exceptional potty training. According to Sandy Paws Rescue, "She is extremely potty trained and would be great with a working person (she can hold her bladder for a whole work day)." This makes her an ideal companion for someone with a busy schedule.

Egypt is full of energy and loves to play. "She loves to run outside and chase her toys around. She's super fast darting everywhere," Sandy Paws Rescue shares. Her playful spirit extends to her interactions with her foster mom. "She is so happy to see her foster mom and loves to give kisses and snuggle." However, Egypt does have some initial fears, especially around new people, and takes a while to warm up, particularly with men. "The keys to her heart are treats and play time! A game of fetch can make her forget all about her fears," says the local animal rescue.

While Egypt can get easily excitable and can be jumpy and mouthy, she is making progress in her foster home. "She calms down quickly and responds to correction," Sandy Paws Rescue notes. Though Egypt has enjoyed playing with other dogs in the past, her current ideal home would be as the only pet. "She has a very strong prey drive so no cats for this girl!" they advises.

Egypt is currently working with a trainer to overcome her anxieties and learn better manners. Sandy Paws Rescue highlights the importance of finding an adopter who is "understanding of her boundaries and committed to continuing her training." In an effort to ensure Egypt finds the perfect home, Sandy Paws Rescue has waived her adoption fee in lieu of proof of training. This loving dog is looking for a forever home where she can continue to grow and thrive.

The keys to her heart are treats and play time! A game of fetch can make her forget all about her fears," Sandy Paws Rescue explains.

Egypt loves to play with other dogs, but for right now the animal shelter advises that her ideal home is her being the only pet. "She has a very strong prey drive so no cats for this girl!" Egypt's adoption fee has been waived in lieu of training, explains the non-profit animal rescue. "Egypt and her foster family are working with a trainer to help her overcome her anxieties and learn better manners. Tiger

    Waiting since 4/22

Tiger is a gentle and affectionate two-year-old dog who is currently looking for his forever home. Weighing in at 18 pounds, Tiger has captured the hearts of the team at Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. with his sweet and shy demeanor.

According to Sandy Paws Rescue Inc., "Tiger is shy but sweet! He is very attentive and wants nothing more than to be near his people but he isn't ready for too much attention yet. He just wants to be your shadow!" This shows just how devoted Tiger can be to his future family, even if it takes him a little time to come out of his shell.

Tiger is described as being fully housebroken and crate-trained, making him an easy addition to any home. "He loves going on walks and is great in the car," the rescue organization notes. These traits make Tiger the perfect companion for someone who enjoys outdoor activities and travel.

The rescue further explains that Tiger sees his crate as a safe place, indicating that he finds comfort and security there. This is an important consideration for potential adopters who can provide Tiger with the patience he needs. "His ideal home would be with pawrents who are willing to give him the time and patience needed to come out of his shell and blossom into a happy pup! He would do well with another dog in the house that can teach him how to be a confident doggy," explains Sandy Paws Rescue Inc.

Tiger is a loving and timid dog who thrives in the company of other pets and would benefit from a family that understands his need for patience and gentle encouragement. "He would do well with another dog in the house that can teach him how to be a confident doggy," explains the animal rescue. If you think you can provide Tiger with the loving home he deserves, consider reaching out to Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. to learn more about this special pup.

    Thanos

    Waiting since 5/16

Thanos, who is just barely a year old and weighs around 55 pounds, is currently stuck in boarding, which is far from ideal for such a lively and loving pup.

Thanos's adoption fee has been waived in lieu of training, explains the non-profit animal rescue. Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. highlights his affectionate nature, stating, "He is great at giving snuggles and he loves giving husky hugs, he is a bit shy at first but once he is comfortable he is a happy guy!" They also point out that Thanos is an excellent companion for outdoor activities, adding, "Looking for a walking or hiking buddy this summer? Thanos absolutely loves his walks!"

In addition to his loving personality, Thanos is house-trained and knows a few basic commands. He does well in his crate, and when he needs to go out, he goes to the door. Thanos also gets along well with other dogs and older children, making him a versatile addition to any active home.

Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. emphasizes that "boarding is no place for a young, energetic and loving boy like Thanos!" and urges those who are not in a position to adopt to share his story. By spreading the word, more people can learn about Thanos and help him find the loving home he deserves.

    Chente

    Waiting since 5/16

Chente is an 8.5-month-old Australian cattle dog who is eagerly searching for his forever home. According to Sandy Paw Rescue Inc., Chente is a joyful puppy who loves giving kisses and interacting with others. He has shown good behavior around other dogs and cats, although he might chase cats outside due to his playful nature. Interestingly, he also displays curiosity towards chickens but generally leaves them alone. Chente is making significant progress with housebreaking and has adapted well to spending short periods in a crate, especially during feeding times, as that's where he eats his meals.

Chente has a fondness for toys and enjoys playing with them. Despite his playful energy, Chente can settle down quickly, making him a well-balanced puppy. Like many young dogs, he has had a few mishaps, such as chewing on a shoe and a couch arm when left unattended, but overall, he is a well-behaved heeler. He also responds well to being called, showcasing his trainability.

Chente has been undergoing training with Rise&ShineK9 and has consistently received rave reviews from both his trainer and foster mom. This speaks volumes about his trainability and good behavior, making him an even more appealing candidate for adoption.

Chente's ideal adopter would have experience with working or herding breeds, as these dogs have specific needs and energy levels. Sandy Paws Rescue advises that Chente's new home should not have very young children (toddlers or babies), although he has been successfully fostered with children aged 8 and up. Currently, Chente is being fostered on Martha’s Vineyard and is awaiting a family that can provide him with the love, exercise, and mental stimulation he needs.

    Max

    Waiting since 6/3

Max, an adorable 11.5-month-old pup, is currently looking for his forever home through Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. Weighing in at 32 pounds, Max is already housebroken and crate-trained, making him an easy addition to any household. He is described as a dog who "loves his toys, playing with other dogs, and is great with kids too." Though he may be "a little shy with new people," his gentle and sweet nature shines through.

Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. shared that "Max is settling into his new MA foster home well with 3 kiddos (ages 5 and 11) and a resident SPR dog!" He has taken a liking to sleeping in his bed, playing with his toys, and interacting with the resident dog. At night, he sleeps quietly in his crate, demonstrating that he is both crate and potty-trained.

While Max is still working on leash-walking and training, he is "showing improvement every day." His unique way of greeting new friends by lying down signifies his cautious yet endearing personality. Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. notes that "he might take a little time to really come out of his shell," but he "really perks up when he meets other dog friends." This suggests that Max would thrive in a home with another confident dog who can help him gain confidence and express his true personality.

Max has not yet been introduced to cats, so his compatibility with feline friends remains unknown. His backstory is a touching one: "Max and Layla were found abandoned in a park in North Houston." Fortunately, they were rescued and placed into foster care, giving Max the chance to find a loving family that will provide him with the stability and affection he deserves.

If you're looking to add a sweet, gentle, and slightly shy companion to your family, Max could be the perfect fit. With patience and love, he is sure to blossom into a loyal and loving pet.

    Justine

    Waiting since 6/10

Justine, an adorable little dog with a lot of love to give, is approximately 5 years old and weighs around 9 pounds. She is a terrier mix who has quickly won the hearts of her foster family and everyone who meets her.

Justine looking happy!Photo bySandy Paws Rescue Inc.

According to Sandy Paws Rescue Inc., "Justine is the cutest and happiest little girl—her foster mom says she’s way cuter in person and her loving personality just makes her a 10/10 great girl!" This sentiment captures Justine’s joyful and affectionate nature perfectly. She's great with other dogs and loves to play and run around with them, making her a wonderful companion for a family with other pets.

Justine is mostly housebroken and does well in her crate overnight, though she isn’t fond of being left alone when her people leave the house. "She LOVES to be close to her people as much as possible and is a great snuggle buddy!" explains Sandy Paws Rescue. This little dog thrives on human interaction and would be a perfect fit for someone looking for a constant companion.

While Justine is good on a leash, she does get very excited when she sees other dogs and "sings the songs of her people." She is currently being fostered with two young children and is good with the 5-year-old. However, she doesn’t appreciate the sudden movements and loud noises that come from the 2-year-old, so a home with older kids would be ideal for her.

Justine is a loving, playful, and loyal dog who is eagerly waiting for a forever home where she can continue to thrive. If you think you can provide Justine with the loving home she deserves, Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. would love to hear from you.
