Get ready to feel like you've traveled back in time thanks to the City of Quincy's upcoming '80s & '90s event! The City of Quincy has announced an exciting music event filled with music, food, and entertainment that promises to be a memorable experience for all attendees. Mayor Tom Koch and the City of Quincy invite everyone to "Step Back in Time" and join them for this vibrant community event. As stated by the city, "Join us at the Hancock-Adams Common for a family-friendly outdoor music event! Dance the night away and relive the classics with our vibrant community."

The festivities will kick off at 3 pm with Cover Story Entertainment, presenting the very best 1980s music that will surely keep guests on the dance floor. At 5 pm, the event will continue with a center-stage presentation, followed by the Beacon Street Band at 5:30 pm. The band is back in Quincy by popular demand, playing the most well-known 1990s music of a generation. As the city notes, "The band was a major hit at last year’s Food Truck and Musicfest in October. The crowds went wild."

The highlight of the evening will be at 7 pm when Michelle Brooks-Thompson takes the stage for a "Whitney Houston Tribute." According to the city, "Michelle’s vocal tone and power is highly compared to the late musical icon, Whitney Houston. You won’t believe your ears!"

In addition to the musical performances, the event will feature 80s and 90s classic cars and models in vintage 80s and 90s clothes, stilt walkers, and jugglers. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, although the city assures that "We offer plenty of tables and chairs with a few tents provided for your listening pleasure."

The event will also feature food trucks, lawn games, adult beverages for purchase, and special art demonstrations along with historic museum displays. The City of Quincy is making every effort to ensure the event is enjoyable for all. If this sounds like an event you won't want to miss, then be sure to mark your calendar for Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 3 PM until 8 PM.
