Sandy Paws Rescue's motto is "Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them," and it's true. Perhaps even for you too? This foster-based animal rescue organization based in Massachusetts is searching for dog lovers with space in their homes and hearts to temporarily care for a furry friend. Sandy Paws Rescue explained to their community, "We have been BEGGING for foster homes and still have FOUR large dogs with no where to go for MONDAY, 8/12!".

Sandy Paws Rescue posted on Wednesday, August 7th that they have the chance to rescue four dogs, Bronco, Falcon, Maverick, and Blazer, but won't be able to if nobody steps up to foster them. The nonprofit foster-based rescue explains that the four dogs "are all 1-2 years old and 50-60lbs. They just completed a 4 week training program and will come with a list of marker words they already know. They are all very well behaved boys who just need a place to crash while they wait for their furever home! All are good with other dogs, dog-savvy cats, and older kids, unsure with young kids. "

Sandy Paws Rescue shared some information on Facebook about their program for those interested:

    • Food & supplies are provided by Sandy Paws
    • Any medical expenses must be approved first, but are covered by Sandy Paws
    • Foster homes can be located anywhere in MA or RI!
    • You do NOT need to be home 24/7. Most foster parents in our network work out of the home.
    • A fenced yard is not required! Apartment dwellers can foster too.
    • You will need to keep your foster dog until he/she is adopted. Average is 2-6 weeks. Better pics and bios provided to our marketing team help your foster dog get adopted faster!
    • We cannot guarantee the breed of any dog we rescue, so we cannot accept breed-specific requests for fostering. We can, however, accommodate if you are only able to foster puppies vs adults, or large dogs vs small.
    • Yes, it can be very difficult to say goodbye to your foster pup. But many of our fosters share how rewarding it is to see an at-risk dog placed with the perfect family. And a lot of our adoptive families stay in touch with their foster families and share updates!
