DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — Investigators arrested a teenager in connection with a shooting at an Iowa mall that left the teen and another person wounded and sent people running for safety, police said Tuesday.

Davenport man, gang member, sentenced for firearm charge
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A Davenport man was sentenced on July 16 to eight years in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a felon. Elijah Wires, 20, was found in possession of a firearm with an extended magazine during the early morning hours of January 1, 2022, according to court documents. Wires, a Savage Life gang member who had multiple outstanding warrants, was a passenger in a car that drove recklessly through Davenport, including driving through red lights and down one-way roads.

Tempers flared Wednesday when an 18-year-old Peoria man was sentenced to up to 20 years in prison for the fatal 2023 Davenport shooting of a Moline man. Man from Davenport, IA arrested after 3 vehicle accident in Boscobel
On Sunday around 9:00 pm, Grant County Dispatch received a 911 call of a three-vehicle crash south of the City of Boscobel. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded and identified 55-year-old Frank Klee of Davenport, IA as the driver of vehicle that had lost control and struck a guardrail. Frank’s vehicle came to rest in the lane of traffic, causing blockage. Two other vehicles collided attempting to avoid the blockage causing disabling damage to both vehicles. The drivers of those vehicles were 38-year-old Jordan Powers of Lancaster and a 31-year-old Grace Ideker, of Onalaska, WI. Only minor injuries were reported by the parties involved. Grant County Deputies investigated and arrested Klee for Operating while Intoxicated – 1st Offense. The passenger in Klee’s vehicle, 29-year-old Hailey Perez of Davenport, IA, was cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Boscobel Police Department, Boscobel Fire Department, Boscobel EMS, and Terry’s Tire and Tow assisted at the scene.

Vehicle hits building in Rock Island
There is major damage to a building and stop sign in Rock Island after a vehicle crashed into them. Rock Island Police shared with Our Quad Cities News that an accident involving a vehicle and a residence occurred at 1:27a.m. on the 4400 block of 14th Avenue. There were no witnesses to the accident; however, police believe it was the driver of a tan, 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, who lost control and struck the residence.
