100th Avenue in Scott County now open
According to a news release from the Scott County Secondary Roads Department, drivers can now fully use 100th Avenue. The northbound lane of 100th Avenue is now open between 130th Street/Chapel Hill Road and 139th Street in Scott County. Crews have finished utility construction in the area and the road was reopened today.

COLONA, Iowa — A proposed workplace safety rule change could have significant impacts on local fire departments. An Occupational Safety and Health Administration rule, the Fire Brigades standard was first put into effect in 1980. According to the OSHA website, the safeguards in this rule are inadequate and outdated for safeguarding against the full range of hazards faced by emergency responders.
