REVIEW: ‘Beauty Queen of Leenane’ stuns at Dorset Theatre Festival
It was a rainy drive up through the woods of Dorset Saturday afternoon to take in the Martin McDonagh minor modern classic “The Beauty Queen of Leenane” on Saturday afternoon. We had just made it to our seat when thunder clapped from the sound system (designed by Fitz Patton) and the sound and presence of rain dripping could be heard and seen outside the glorious ramshackle, claustrophobic set by Christopher and Justin Swader, lighting design by Mary Ellen Stebbins. Excellent work is also done by costume designer Fabian Fidel Aguilar.

COLCHESTER — Lifelong Colchester resident Leland Gazo is running as a Republican for Vermont House in the Chittenden-19 district this election season. Two seats are available to three candidates running for office. Gazo is joined in pursuit of the seats by Democrats Wendy Critchlow and Rep. BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Vermont film director Jay Craven is taking his latest film, “Lost Nation” on the road across Vermont this month. The Revolutionary War-era action drama is set in the early upstart Republic of Vermont and focuses on Ethan Allen and pioneering frontier poet and rights advocate Lucy Terry Prince, who was enslaved at the age of three in western Massachusetts and settled a Vermont homestead.
