Police: Bennington County man assaulted driver he says sped past house
A Bennington County man allegedly attacked a man because he was driving too fast outside his home. Vermont State Police responded to an incident on Pine Ridge Drive in Pownal on Tuesday just before 6:15 p.m. Douglas Peltier, 47, is accused of confronting the 67-year-old man, who is also from Pownal, as he drove by his residence. He later assaulted him when he was outside of his vehicle, police said.

An Ohio man was seriously injured after being electrocuted on the job in last week in Bennington County. Jonathan Abner, 44, an employee of Northline Utilities, was doing contract work for Green Mountain Power in Arlington late Thursday afternoon.
