    Body found following apartment fire in Duluth

    One person was killed in a fire at a Duluth apartment complex early Thursday morning.

    Duluth Fire Department was called to the fire on the 600 block of 47th Avenue East at 2:29 a.m. While there were no visible flames, light smoke could be seen in the first-floor hallway.

    Residents were evacuated, with crews located a fire inside a first-floor unit.

    The fire was extinguished quickly, but one person was found dead in the apartment. Information about the victim and their cause of their death has not been provided.

    Other firefighters assisted six residents and multiple pets in safely evacuating the building. Damage was limited to the apartment of origin, with the value of the damage estimated at $25,000.
