Sun Prairie native a burgeoning star for Iowa football
INDIANAPOLIS — Addison Ostrenga’s role changed drastically by the week for the University of Iowa football team last fall. The Hawkeyes expected to have two standout tight ends to spearhead their receiving corps, but injuries to Erick All and Luke Lachey suddenly turned a position of strength into a question mark a month into the season. The attention turned to Ostrenga, a Sun Prairie native and then a sophomore tight end. He was asked to become a key target for an offense that was struggling, and while he couldn’t turn it around entirely, he became a crucial weapon for whom coach Kirk Ferentz sees a bright future.

West Nile Has Been Found in Iowa Mosquitoes
The good news is that at the time of writing, no humans in Iowa have yet tested positive for the West Nile virus. Mosquitos on the other hand have been found containing the virus in central Iowa. According to KCRG, mosquitoes were trapped at a park in West Ames sometime in mid-July. The park where these mosquitoes were found is sprayed or fogged every Wednesday night. Some of these mosquitoes contained the West Nile virus.
