ELKTON — Elkton Music Hall celebrated its one year anniversary on Saturday with the same band that played during the hall’s debut, Cosmic Guilt. Over the past year, owners Ric Cunningham and Katie Salsbury have welcomed over 500 musicians and guests to the venue while seeing audiences grow as more bands come to play. Cunningham and Salsbury moved here eight years ago from Washington D.C., and fell in love with Elkton’s small town vibes. After getting exhausted from traveling miles to see live music, the...

What in the world are watermelon fries?
FAIR HILL — Watermelon fries are like regular fries — in name and shape only. Contrary to what they are called, watermelon fries are not fried (nor baked, broiled, roasted, seared, grilled or cooked in any fashion whatsoever). They are cool to the touch. Watermelon fries look like fries because of their finger-like shape and because those strips are served in a little, cardboard basket. ...

All contributions will go toward our various Church Hill Theatre projects. ...
Heat Doesn’t Keep Chick-fil-A Out of the Kitchen
When Rebuilding Together Kent County’s Executive Director, Genevieve Croker, first got a call from Chick-fil-A Regional Facilities Manager, Kevin Hiden, she wasn’t sure whether she’d be able to accommodate their volunteer group. Kevin, who has a home near Rock Hall, had been chatting with a local friend, Cathy, about his company’s commitment to giving back and wondering if there was a nearby nonprofit that could be a good fit. Cathy immediately thought of Rebuilding and their work to ensure more of our neighbors live in safe and healthy homes. She put Kevin in touch with Genevieve and after several conversations, they found the perfect project for their volunteers: clearing out a home for a senior in MIllington!
