East Bend Elementary students decorate bus interior

Mae Luffman, a former East Bend Town Commissioner, wondered what would fill her time after she left her post on the board. She soon found herself driving a bus for Yadkin County Schools.

Luffman's students at East Bend Elementary School began bringing her drawings and school worksheets which she decided to put up on display inside the bus.

"The children love decorating the bus so that others can see their accomplishments," she said. "From school work, holiday crafts, coloring, to their graded homework. They were so proud to have it posted."

Luffman issued a challenge to the students, "I told them if they could fill the ceiling I would get it put in the paper for all to see."

The students were all smiles for their photo inside the bus after filling the entire bus ceiling with their colorful drawings, homework and more.
