Fatal Crash Claims a Life on Route 18

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - On ThursdaY, July 25, 2024, at approximately 2:00 am, East Brunswick police officers responded to the intersection of Highway 18 North and South Woodland Avenue for the report of a motor vehicle crash involving an operator of an electric bicycle. The bicyclist, Rohit Sharma (25-year-old male), was critically injured and pronounced deceased. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and remained at the scene of the crash.

Patrolman Patrick Lem of the East Brunswick Police Department Traffic Safety Section is conducting a crash investigation, says the EBPD.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no further information is being released at this time.
