Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old man from Buffalo Township, Pa., died after a gunman opened fire during a rally for former President Donald Trump on Saturday evening. The former volunteer fire chief and father of two dove on his family to protect them from the bullets, according to Gov. Josh Shapiro. Couple charged for allegedly not feeding children, locking them in room
Sunbury, Pa. — The children of Alexis Marie Anstey, 27, and David Joseph Heller, 34, of Sunbury, told police they had been locked inside their room for 10 hours and hit with various items, including a belt. Woman cited for leaving dog in hot car
Selinsgrove, Pa. — A woman was cited Monday for leaving a dog in a hot vehicle for over an hour. Trp. Joseph Civello of state police at Selinsgrove says Dontay Shalease M. Wiley, 30, of Sunbury, was parking at a shopping center at 980 N. Susquehanna Trail in Monroe Township when someone discovered the dog inside her vehicle shortly before 5:30 p.m. The temperature outside was 90 degrees, and the temperature inside the vehicle was more than 100 degrees that day, according to Civello. Wanted man allegedly flees police
Williamsport, Pa. — A man wanted out of Lehigh County allegedly took off from police when they tried to take him into custody. Deputy Joshua Wolfe of the Lycoming County Sheriff's office said he was notified last month that Julian Enrique Davila, 24, had an arrest warrant and was in the Williamsport, according to charges. Wolfe made contact with Davila in the 50 block of Willow Street on June 15 around midnight, but Davila reportedly fled on foot. Wolfe gave chase and caught him two blocks later. Davila, Allentown, was charged with fleeing police and evading arrest. He previously served 10 days in jail in Lehigh County for the same charges, court records show. Docket sheet
