Montour County hires new Director of Veterans Affairs
Danville, Pa. — Montour County has a new person in charge of serving veterans in the county. Dale Myers was hired Tuesday. He is a 20-year U.S. Navy veteran and will oversee the department that helps vets access services and get assistance. Montour County Commissioners this week approved the hiring of the new Director of Veterans Affairs and the $26,000 annual salary. He replaces Tim Wright, who recently resigned for personal reasons. Deadly crash in Schuylkill County
MINERSVILLE, SCHUYLKILL CO. (WOLF) — One woman is dead following a crash Friday morning in Minersville. According to Skook News, police say the crash occured in the area of Sunbury Road and River Street. 85 year-old Dolores Ostrowsky was the passenger of the vehicle traveling west on on the Seltzer Highway.
Beaver Twp. cop bitten while responding to neighborhood dispute
A dispute at a Beaver Township mobile home community erupted into claims of a neighbor being sprayed with mace and a police officer being bitten. Fifty-six-year-old William Armstrong was charged with assault after a neighbor told police that Armstrong tried to run him down with a pickup truck while he was mowing his lawn at the Maplecroft Manufactured Home Park off West Harvard Blvd.
Three killed in I-81 crash near Harrisburg
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Three people were killed, including two from Snyder County, in a wreck on Interstate 81 over the weekend.
