Indiana man wanted for kidnapping arrested in western Kentucky
FRANKLIN, Kentucky — An Indiana man wanted for kidnapping was apprehended by officers Tuesday morning in western Kentucky. At about 9 a.m., Kentucky State Police received information that Cody Medsker, 28, of New Castle, Ind., was driving south on I-65 in a 2016 red Chevrolet Silverado in Franklin, Ky, according to a KSP news release.

Midwest Braces for Extreme Heatwave in Early August
Kansas City, MO – The Midwest is set to experience extreme heat in early August, with temperatures significantly above normal across the region. The US National Weather Service has issued a forecast predicting a widespread heatwave from August 1-7. According to the NWS, this heatwave will encompass much of the Midwest, pushing daytime highs into the upper 90s and low 100s.

City of Hammond to host free job fair
The Hammond mayor’s economic development office is inviting community members to attend its annual job fair on Sept. 19. The city hosts the event to address the employment needs of the residents of the city of Hammond and the Region. The job fair also helps assist local companies in their recruitment process.
