    East Haven police ask public’s help identifying suspect in bank robbery

    EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — East Haven police are seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect accused of robbing a Citizens Bank Tuesday morning.

    Police said the suspect entered the bank at 263 Hemingway Ave. around 10:34 a.m. Inside, he handed a note to the teller implying he had a weapon.

    He obtained an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank eastbound on River Street, according to police. No injuries were reported.

    The suspect is described as having a stocky build and a gray beard. At the time of the crime, he was wearing a baseball cap, gray and black fleece-type jacket, dark-colored pants or sweats, and light shoes.

    Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has video surveillance footage of him is asked to contact the East Haven Police Department at 203-468-3820.
