Here’s the latest sustainability news this week. Monday set a new record as the hottest day ever globally, surpassing the previous day’s record, according to the European climate service Copernicus. Riders on SEPTA will no longer need to unlock their phones to pay their fares with Apple Pay. SEPTA is rolling out Apple Express for faster fare payment and it is set to be fully integrated by Aug. 9 on buses, trolleys and the subway.
