    PD: Multiple packages of meth seized after intercepted drug deal

    EDWARDSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a man was arrested after officers intercepted a drug deal at an Edwardsville apartment complex.

    According to the Edwardsville Police Department, officers were called to the Hilltop Apartment Complex on Monday around 6:00 p.m. after a complaint was reported that two men were sitting inside a parked truck.

    Officers said they arrived at the complex, watched the truck, and saw a man later identified as Naasir Morrison, 23, of Wilkes-Barre, exit an apartment and walk toward the two men in the car.

    Man accused of retail theft at two stores in Luzerne County

    Police say they approached the truck and the two inside told them they were there to buy $20 worth of methamphetamine.

    A search warrant was executed for the apartment Morrison was seen leaving and inside investigators seized packaged bags of suspected methamphetamine, bags of suspected marijuana, and a 9mm handgun with an altered serial number, as stated in the affidavit.

    Morrison was charged with possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, criminal attempt to deliver a controlled substance and other related drug and gun offenses.

    He remains in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on a $10,000 bail.
