Humane Society of Marathon County hosts free pet food pop-up
WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - The Humane Society of Marathon County held a free pet food pop-up Thursday at Wild Roots Apothecary in Schofield. Pet owners were able to pick up cat and dog food for free that would otherwise expire at the humane society. The goal of the event was to lift any financial burdens people have with feeding their pets and to keep the animals and their owners together.
The buck stops in Rothschild as village decides how to handle deer problem
ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAW) - Rothschild is taking on a new kind of foe other than the heat this summer — the deer population. People are reporting an increase in the animals wreaking havoc on yards across the village and yours could be next. This increase does make sense though. After the mild winter, food was more accessible. Less snow and warmer temperatures meant a better survival and reproduction rate.
