American Legion Post No. 49 will have open house Saturday

An open house will be held Saturday, July 13, at 6 p.m. at American Legion Post No. 49, 111 S. Watauga Ave.

Post volunteers have been working hard to make many necessary changes to the interior and exterior of the building, and they would like to show off their work at the open house.

A meal of slider sandwiches, chips, various salads and such will be served. Donations are appreciated, but not mandatory.

The focus of the American Legion is Nationalism, Americanism, Veterans Assistance, and Youth. Veterans or youth groups in need of a meeting place or a venue for events are asked to contact the local American Legion.

Presently, the membership is working to install a new roof, however, it will not be completed before the Saturday open house.

The public is invited to the open house.
