(Update) Woman bitten by a pit bull NW of Marne; 2nd person suffers minor abrasions
(Marne, Iowa) – (Update 1:57-p.m.) A dog was shot and killed early this (Wednesday) afternoon in rural Cass County (IA), after a woman was attacked by a dog. The incident took place at 54148 Boston Road, northwest of Marne, at around 12:45-p.m. The woman was bleeding from multiple locations, according to dispatch reports.
Atlantic man arrested on an assault warrant
(Atlantic, Iowa) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reports a man from Atlantic was arrested late last month on a warrant for Domestic Abuse Assault. 34-year-old Devin Register was as taken into custody On June 21st, for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia. Register was transported to the Cass County Jail where he was booked and held.
Shelby County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, 7/3/24
(Harlan, Iowa) – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office today (Wednesday), released a report on arrests that took place between June 4th and June 30th. Most recently:. On the 28th, 62-year-old Susan Yvonne King, of Harlan, was arrested and transported to the Shelby County Jail after a traffic stop on Willow St. King was charged with OWI-1st offense, Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability, and Driving on Wrong Side of Two-Way Highway. And, on the 27th, 37-year-old Lachelle Jean Petersen, of Atlantic, was arrested and transported to the Shelby County Jail on an active Shelby County warrant.
Local FFA officers attend training
Each year Southwest district and Iowa FFA officers plan and facilitate Chapter Officer Leadership Training (COLT) conferences for FFA members in the Southwest district. Atlantic High School welcomed FFA chapters from all over the Southwest district on June 4. The Greene County FFA chapter had four members participate in this event: chapter president Kayla Frederick, vice president Elise Badger, sentinel Allison Fields, and reporter Adysen Gries, along with chapter advisor Raelyn Harris.
