Water supply pipe installation underway for the Atlantic SplashPad
(Atlantic, Iowa) – After a couple of days of wet weather, work at the Atlantic SplashPad site resumed this (Wednesday) morning. Workers with the Henley Group, LLC, began the process of installing a water supply pipe for the nearly 4,000 square-foot project. When it’s completed – sometime around the Labor Day weekend – the Splash Pad will feature numerous amenities, including a giant dump bucket, a small water table for toddlers, an over-spray zone, and a simple ground spray for kids.
Final reminder: Iowa DNR to host a meeting on deer herd population issues Monday, in Atlantic
(Atlantic, Iowa) – Here’s a reminder about an upcoming meeting in Atlantic, Monday, with regards to a thinning deer population in the region. Iowa DNR State Deer Biologist Jace Elliott says the presentation takes place from 6:30- until 8-p.m., Monday, July 8th, at the Venue in downtown Atlantic.

This decision empowered the Supervisors to determine the establishment of the board, which will have the responsibility of annually recommending wages for elected officials.
Atlantic Planning and Zoning Commission Meets July 9
(Atlantic) The Atlantic Planning and Zoning Commission meets on Tuesday, July 9. The Commission will hold a Public Hearing on the Camblin Hills Development Preliminary Plat and review and provide a recommendation on the proposed Plat. Additionally, the Commission will review and recommend an application to rezone Camblin Hills Development from R-2 low-density single family to R-4 multiple family.

(Council Bluffs, IA) – The Community Foundation for Western Iowa is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors, Christina Bateman of Atlantic, Iowa, and Kevin Cabbage of Stanton, Iowa. Bateman and Cabbage joined the Community Foundation’s 15-member board comprised of dedicated community members and leaders committed to improving the lives of all residents in western Iowa. The two began their three-year terms in May, with the option to serve a maximum of three terms.
