Council Bluffs man sentenced to 10 years in prison for distributing methamphetamine
(Council Bluffs) -- A Council Bluffs man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for a drug trafficking charge. United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal for the Southern District of Iowa announced Tuesday that 44-year-old Lawaun Maurice Webster was sentenced to 120 months in prison for distribution of methamphetamine. Following his term of imprisonment, Webster will be required to serve fives years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.

Lorimor woman booked on warrants in Creston
(Creston) -- A Lorimor woman was arrested on multiple warrants in Creston Tuesday evening. The Creston Police Department says 43-year-old Megan Marie Brown was arrested shortly before 6 p.m. on four warrants, all for failure to appear on the original charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor, possession of a controlled substance--marijuana and methamphetamine, 1st offense--both serious misdemeanors, and for failure to serve jail time on the charge of person ineligible to carry dangerous weapons, a serious misdemeanor. Authorities say the arrest occurred at 307 North Street.

Former Cass County Assistant Extension Director Reflects Back on the History of the Fair
(Atlantic) The Cass County Fair is celebrating its 75th anniversary, and many of you following the Cass County Facebook Page have enjoyed reading about the individuals, families, and business contributors who have contributed over the past 75 years. One of those individuals is Duane Feltz, who served as the Assistant County Extension Director under Dan Merrick from 1959 to 1966. Mr. Feltz, who is 93 years old, still has fond memories of helping the 4H youth and working under Extension Director Dan Merrick.
