Black Sox Take Loss in Elk Point
The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox 14U team took a tough 13-3 loss to Elk Point-Jefferson on Sunday, July 7th. Elk Point-Jefferson scored four times in the bottom of the first inning for a 4-0 lead. The Black Sox scored three in the top of the second to cut the lead to 4-3, but Elk Point-Jefferson responded with three runs themselves in the bottom of the second for a 7-3 advantage. Their offense then had three more runs in the bottom of the third and three again in the bottom of the fourth.

A-W baseball wraps up War Eagle Conference title
AKRON — The Class 1A No. 1 ranked Akron-Westfield baseball team wrapped up the War Eagle Conference title with a 12-2 win in five innings over Trinity Christian on Friday. The Westerners finished 10-0 in conference play and won the league title outright for the first time in 34 years. The team finished a game ahead of Remsen St. Mary’s in the league standings.
