Community to weigh in on Manitowoc school district's elementary consolidation plans
MANITOWOC (WLUK) – The public will have a chance to weigh in on the Manitowoc school district’s plans to consolidate elementary schools at a meeting Thursday night. The district says $161 million in maintenance needs over the next ten years were recently identified in an audit. It comes at a time when elementary schools have a capacity for 2,200 students, but only 1,786 are enrolled in the district.
Manitowoc Start Discussions on Future Road Projects
Future road projects are already being discussed by the Manitowoc Common Council. During last week’s Committee of the Whole meeting, Engineering Division Manager Greg Minikel and Public Infrastructure Director Dan Koski explained what goes into deciding what street project to do next, which includes the last time work was done on the road and other costs like curb, gutter, and sewer line work.
Kenosha Police Seek Public Assistance in Identifying Bank Robbery Suspect
Kenosha, WI (WLIP)–Kenosha Police are requesting help from the community to identify a suspect involved in two separate robberies at the U.S. Bank located at 1800 22nd Ave. The first robbery occurred on April 13, 2024, at 9:54 AM, and the second on July 13, 2024, at 11:30 AM. In both incidents, the suspect displayed a firearm and demanded cash from the teller.
